my english lesson was after my STEM lesson so I felt a little more comfortable with teaching the students. I also had planned more for my english lesson so I was excited to teach it. At first, no one really understood the point of my english lesson but after I went around and explained it to every table they started to understand everything a bit better. I had an exercise I wanted them to do which they excelled on and then a worksheet which they also did great on. Overall, this teaching experience was great and I feel like I improved a lot on public speaking. I definetely feel more comfortable talking in front of large groups of people now.

Even though this camp had so many ups and downs I made friendships that will hopefully last a very long time and all the mini trips we went on were always very fun. Starting from the day spent at JIXI (since I already wrote about the other days) I’ll talk about my experience. On the 5th day of camp we went to JIXI. That day was the definition of crazy since my friend,Jennifer, lost 100 RMB but otherwise I had a lot of fun learning about the architecture there and climbing a mountain where we ended up going off trail and hopping from rock to rock on a waterfall. On day 6 it was a whole day of teaching but we learned how to make bracelets and Chinese knots at night. The 7th day was the last day where we would be giving presentations in the evening. My group and I started our project the day before but only worked on it for 30 minutes. We got to school at 7am on the last day to finish our project. After working on it for 6 and a half more hours we finally ended up with a farewell video for all the Xuancheng students. I was really proud of my groups work. shoutout to Charles and Jordan for being awesome partners that I got to work with. I’ll miss everyone so much but I hope to see them in the future. ♥️
