The first part of our tour today were pretty stressful. We visited an ancient wooden village that sat on top of a river, but none of the rooms had ACs, so I spent most of my time hiding from the sun. The exhibits included ancient beds, fashion exhibits, and silk exhibits. There was also a little street market that we were allowed to wonder up and down on.

On the second day of the trip, we went to West Lake. On the way, our tour guide told us the story about a white snake lady who fell in love with a doctor but couldn’t be with him. It was kind of like a Chinese version of Romeo and Juliet. While walking around the lake, we also stopped by the restaurant that was famous for serving presidents, but the food was apparently not good. Overall I think this day was better than the forst, as we got more freetime to ourselves and experience market culture in China. 📷

For the most part, the trip was pretty stressful especially for an indoor person like me because it was hot and humid and gross, but it was nice to see all the historical exhibits in the museums. This picture was taken near a lake we took a break at before we headed for the local museum. There were plenty of moisquitos, but it was still a refreshing sight.
