The best thing we did today was to take a boat ride. Surrounded by the water and iconic landmarks, it was on this boat that I felt like I was truly in Shanghai for the first time. Up until that moment, I couldn’t really fathom that I was so far away from my home in the U.S.

The overall best memory of today I will have in the future is visiting 南京路. Even though there were lot of people and it was very hot outside, it was worth it. I enjoyed walking around and looking at the shops, but mostly just experiencing this part of Shanghai.

Definitely the best experience today was walking through the shops and streets with my friends. Everywhere you looked, there was something colorful or eye catching to look at.

For me, the most memorable experience of the day was riding a boat. The typhoon today was also an amazing experience, but sailing the canal was even more memorable for me. I remember just sitting and watching the canal float by through the window and the light rain, while people laughed and played cards inside the warm cabin. It was nice being able to get out of the wind and the rain for a while, and just enjoy the scenery
