Today while we saw the pearl tower while on the sightseeing boat and also went to one of the pearls for the view.
For the camp:
If this venture into America and other countries is to continue, the organizers must have translations of all the rules and other materials. A lack of this led to a misunderstanding of what the expectations actually were and how we would be judged. Yes, we can try to translate using Google Translate or other services but it just isn’t the same as having the translated version at the ready. Many times we are unwilling to use such services or attempt to read the wall of Chinese texts as it seems too daunting.
One thing that could be improved upon in regards to campus life is the amount of free time. Many of us found ourselves doing work until late in the night and while Chinese students may be used to it as they have 补习班 and whatnot, Americans may find it too harsh as we are used to more free time. To attract more foreigners, the organizers should adapt it so it allows more time for bonding and individual free time. Outreach into other countries is a chance to exchange culture and this is one way to do so.
