Today we celebrated the birthdays of Hailey and Nathaniel. The day before, Ajay, David, and I bought food (mostly junk food) which served as gifts.
Living with roommates who speak a different language was not as hard as I had imagined. One of them was interested in American music and we talked a lot about that.
During the stayat the camp, I was constantly woken up by an alarm at 5:45. Later, I found out that they (my roommates) had to wake up at that time normally just to go to school. This and other incidents revealing different aspects of life in China made me realize how lucky we are to live in America because I am sure not attending 补习班 until late in the night.
Totally agree with Dr. Yang.
It is better to say this in Chinese. 中国的学生有非常严格的要求,特别是优秀的学生。美国的学生特别敬佩中国学生。
